In consultation with College leadership, Paulien & Associates was contracted to determine the size and nature of space required to support each academic department and interdisciplinary program in the College of Arts & Sciences and to evaluate the suitability of existing space for meeting those needs. Multiple meetings were held with the College leadership including department heads and center directors. The information gathered was used to guide the planning of the South Lawn Project, which consists of a major new building creating an expanded south end of the historic lawn, the replacement of a large 50-year old building plus the reallocation and renovation of space in the South Lawn area and the assignment of departments to various buildings.
